The Caribbean Living Room exhibition

The Caribbean Living Room exhibition at 58 Between Towns Road is now open!

🟠The Caribbean Living Room at 58 Between Towns Road, Cowley is a partnership with the Afrikan Caribbean Kultral Heritage Initiative (ACKHI), the BK.LUWO group and @museumofoxford In 2018, ACHKI and BK.LUWO created the Caribbean Living Room, a reconstruction of a typical 1960s West Indian front room, as an immersive temporary exhibition at the Museum of Oxford. In 2019, Fusion Arts worked with them to move it to Between Towns Road for people to visit and explore, to learn more about the #windrushgeneration and to hear their experiences. ⠀

🟣This June 2023 we will be celebrating the 75th anniversary of the docking of the SS Empire Windrush #Windrush75. The Caribbean Living Room will be used during the #WindrushDay celebrations. Watch this space for more details!

🔵The #CaribbeanLivingRoom is free to visit (donations are welcome) and open Tuesday - Thursday 10am - 4pm every week! Swipe through to see some of the objects & artwork that you'll find.
