Usha Kar’s Powerful Collection on Display

Oxford-based artist and artivist Usha Kar presents a powerful collection of mixed media installations and paintings addressing climate justice and indigenous land rights. The title quotes Prakash Bhoir, a Warli activist fighting to save ancestral lands from development.

Inspiration from Endangered Species and Indigenous Beliefs

Usha's work is inspired by endangered species and the beliefs and origin stories of the adivasi people in central India. The exhibition includes pieces co-created with community members in Oxfordshire and Cardiff, inspired by the art of Warli women. Usha facilitated workshops with MADE, OVADA, Sacred Arts, Halsway Manor, CAG, Willowbrook organic farm, OCA and Transition lighthouse.

Explore Creative Chaos and Precise Artistry

Usha’s practice combines precise elements with energetic flow to explore the creative chaos of humanity. This thought-provoking exhibition showcases the intricate blend of order and spontaneity in her work.
