Beside The Point Art Exhibition

Beside the Point is an assorted new exhibition showcasing eight Oxford based artists via a range of media including video, performance, poetry, painting, installation and sculpture.

Beside the Point is an assorted new exhibition showcasing eight Oxford based artists via a range of media including video, performance, poetry, painting, installation and sculpture.

Showing across two locations: 95 Gloucester Green and #WindowGalleries in Friars Entry, these eight artists explore diverse ideas from gender rights to personal histories. The varied outcomes are the culmination of the artists’ studies on the part-time Warehouse Art School (WAS) Continuing Practice course, based in East Oxford. The group are keen to present their current ideas and personal explorations to the wider Oxford community within this show and Fusion Arts is happy to help facilitate. The artists included are Renée Adams, Sarah Beeson, Frankie Franklin, Emma Clifton-Brown, Karen Grootz, Kay Lynn Richard Matthews and Sarah Radice.

From exploring a sense of inner and outer worlds via pencil on paper to the partnering of science and art in order to challenge people’s beliefs, this exhibition will cover a vast spectrum of subject matter through eight beautifully unique lenses.

There will be a private view on Thursday 9th June from 17:00 - 20:00, with a live performance at 18:30. This will be a great opportunity to chat to the artists about their work on show and general practice.

Beside the Point will be on display in 95 Gloucester Green, OX1 2BU and the #WindowGalleries along Friars Entry in Oxford, OX1 2BZ from Monday 6th June until the 4th July. Both locations are free and the #WindowGalleries are available to visit every day while 95 Gloucester Green is open Wednesdays–Saturdays. The #WindowGalleries are an innovative collaboration between community organisation Fusion Arts and The Randolph Hotel by Graduate Hotels that connects and supports Oxford’s communities by creating a lively space for the public to experience inspiring work by local artists.
