It was an honour to team up with Parents for Palestine Oxford (P4P Oxford) for a special day of art, reflection, and solidarity. Children and adults alike created meaningful pieces with Palestine in mind, also paying tribute to Yemen, Lebanon, and Sudan.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the collaborative banner marked with فلسطين الحرة — we’re excited to see it displayed at future P4P Oxford events or local marches. We were truly moved by the postcard art and messages, which we’ll send to the UK Government to express our collective call for urgent action.
Families enjoyed block printing with wooden & vegetable stamps, creating custom designs, making linocut crayon rubbings of Handala, and badge-making (which turned out to be really addictive!). Thank you to everyone who came along to help run these activities!
A heartfelt thanks to Westbury People's Gallery (WPG) for lending us stunning artwork, including a stained glass tribute to Gaza by Kate Westrop and a canvas piece by Wendy McHughs. We also showcased a powerful tapestry initially displayed at the Radcliffe Camera encampment Oxford Action for Palestine , conceived by Shaista Aziz, coordinated by WPG, and brought to life by artists like Amu, Sian, Helen Edwards, Judith Hammond, Coco Khan, Erin Rosalie Thomas, and Kate Westrop.
Parents for Palestine is also raising funds for War Child to support children affected by conflict. If you can, please consider donating through the link at https://www.justgiving.com/pag....
P4P Oxford are always looking for more people to help organise these events, please DM @parentsforpalestineoxford on Instagram if you’d like to get involved.
