‘Tamesis Unweaving’ Anya Gleizer

26/03/2025

In February 2025, Anya Gleizer—an incredible artist usually based in the Fusion Arts studios near Templars Square—reached out asking to use the space for something huge... and we mean that literally.

She’s been mapping out sections of the River Thames as part of her art-science project ‘Tamesis Unweaving’—a breathtaking embroidered, quilted map that will eventually become a wearable robe exploring our emotional connections to water and the environment.

To manage the scale, Anya is breaking the piece into smaller sections for upcoming community workshops. The finished artwork will stitch together science, story, and self-expression, creating space for conversations around ecological emotions and climate action. The first draft will be shown during Marmalade at the Arts at the Old Fire Station from March 31st. It will travel to the Science Gallery London on May 9th, and then be displayed at the Weston Library during the RHRN Climate Justice Summit from May 30th.
