“Identity, Belonging & Change: Historical Portrait of Everyday Life in Sudan” - an exhibition organized by @oxfordAfrica and @oxfordsudsoc that took place in October last year.
📜 “A History of Ordinary People in Africa” (HOPIA) @oxfordafrica is a cultural heritage project, featuring a series of historical exhibitions. This initiative is carried out by members of the Oxford University Africa Society in partnership with Fusion Arts Oxford, supported by @torchoxford, as part of the Humanities Cultural Programme, and the Oxford African Studies Centre.
🎨 Featuring artwork by Sali Mudawi @saliphotog , Hana Murgani @the.hana.legend , Salah Tahir @salz_photos , street wear by Dalageen @dalageen_sdn and a thought-provoking keynote talk by Bayan Abubakr, the event was a celebration of culture, identity, and resilience.
💰 The charity art auction and bake sale for Sudan were a great success, raising an incredible £2,020! The Oxford Sudanese Society directed their donations to HometaxSd charity organization, working tirelessly to aid internally displaced families in Sudan, enduring the consequences of ongoing conflict.
