Bringing Our Community Together, A Collaborative Community Project

In partnership with South Oxfordshire District Council and local community groups, Fusion Arts is embarking on a project to document life in Berinsfield. Our goal is simple yet profound: to capture the social history, experiences, hopes, and dreams of the village, along with its physical landscape.

This initiative focuses on placemaking and addressing disparities in arts access, in alignment with the "Levelling Up" agenda supported by South Oxfordshire District Council. Through creative community interventions, we aim to directly and indirectly enhance health and wellbeing while fostering social change. Our aim is to meet community needs, reduce inequalities, and expand artistic possibilities, all while supporting the professional development of locals and artists from Oxfordshire and beyond.

The project encompasses various activities:

- Reminiscence Projects: These aim to highlight pride of place and change narratives by sharing stories from the community.

- Dance and Exercise Programs: These initiatives aim to improve health and wellbeing while reducing isolation.

- Youth Engagement: We offer support for creativity and skills programs to empower young people in the community.

- Support for Existing Groups and Projects: By adding value and impact, we aim to ensure the sustainability of ongoing initiatives.

One notable success story is the Berry Youth Club sessions. These sessions, featuring art activities, have attracted a core group of young participants, with new members regularly joining in. Through such activities, we aim to provide opportunities for self-expression and skill development in a fun and engaging manner.

Additionally, Fusion Arts is supporting Berinsfield community services by showcasing available resources through events like art printing. These activities provide participants with opportunities to explore art as a form of self-expression and skill development.

Community Arts Commissions, such as "Berinsfield Bureau" and "Berinsfield Landing," involve engaging with various groups within the community to collect images and stories. These projects aim to celebrate the diversity and essence of Berinsfield through collaborative efforts.

As we move forward, Fusion Arts remains committed to working alongside local partners and residents to foster positive change and celebrate the unique identity of Berinsfield. Together, we aim to create a more vibrant and inclusive community for all.
