On the 6th June, 2026, we hosted a joyful and defiant day of art and dance in celebration of Palestinian resistance and resilience. Combining the exhibition and traditional Dabke performance, the event was as much a fundraiser as a celebration, bringing together a community to strengthen global solidarity and raise vital funds for grassroots relief efforts.
Dabke, a folk dance performed in lines or circles with stamping footwork, has long been a symbol of Palestinian identity and collective joy, espeically in the face of hardship. Pairing this living tradition with visual art created a day that held both grief and celebration in the same space without separating the two.
All proceeds from the day went directly to grassroots organisations doing essential work on the ground. Some of these organisations include: The Sanad Initiative, a Gaza-led organisation supporting displaced Palestinians across Gaza, Cairo, and Lebanon, and Lebanon REACH, which provides vital support to refugees in Lebanon. By channelling funds directly to organisations rooted in the communities they serve, the event ensured that support translated into a real impact.
Days like this reflect what we believe cultural spaces should do in moments of crisis: hold space for grief without losing sight of joy, resistance and community.
