Fusion Arts was recently involved with the Ashmolean Museum's One World Festival series that ran between November 2020 and April 2021.
This fantastic festival was a celebration of the plethora of diverse communities and faiths that make up the Oxfordshire communities. The theme this year, was 'Light in the Dark', which was intended to bring hope to the challenging times we continue to face. For the February 2021 Love and New Beginnings event, we worked with artist Mani Manson-Reeves to produce a family-friendly mask-making tutorial in celebration of Chinese New Year and the theme of love on Valentine's Day. The masks were inspired by an Assyrian relief showing a winged and bird-headed supernatural spirit that can be found in the Ashmolean's collection. With a range of talks, performances, and activities, the festival and each of its events had something for everyone.
