Fusion Arts invite you to join our free online 5 week Beginners Photography Course. Open to all, no special equipment or cameras needed!
Have you ever wanted to dip your toes into the world of photography?
Perhaps you already take lots of photos and you're curious to learn more? Would you like to gain a better understanding of photographic techniques and genres? Share your work and build connections with a small, friendly group of like-minded people?
Take the plunge!
Come along to our free online Beginners Photography Course running during March 2021! Whatever your level of experience or ability, you are welcome to join.
In this five week course, we will find out how to look at photographs and get a better understanding of what makes a "good" image. There will be the opportunity to learn from and talk to professional photographers, who will give you feedback and guidance on your work. You will also be able to share and discuss your work and discoveries with your group of course mates, helping to improve your photographic practice. Each session will consist of a 30 minute presentation* on a photography topic, followed by group discussion and presentation of participants' work.
This course is open to all. No special equipment or cameras are needed. Any camera is a good camera (including smartphones)!
The course will take place on Wednesday evenings, 6.30 - 8pm GMT between the 3rd and the 31st of March 2021. Free to attend but registration is essential.
About your Course Leader
Sessions will be led by John Blythe, who is an artist, teacher, researcher and professional photographer. He is responsible for reviving and running the community darkroom here at Fusion Arts and has extensive experience putting on workshops, particularly for young people, that help build confidence and support self-development. In addition to Fusion Arts, John also works with OVADA, Arts at the Old Fire Station and The Parasol Project.
About You
Whatever your level of experience or ability, you are welcome to join this course. Over the five weeks, we will work together to build your skills and knowledge, increase your confidence and create some fantastic work. We hope that you have some curiosity about photography which is why we are asking you to answer a couple of questions when you sign up, telling us a little about your photographic interests and what you would like to get out of the course (this will help us tailor the course to your interests).
